World Refugee Day: Euromonitor’s support for refugees

Thursday 20th June is World Refugee Day and with 68.5 million people forcibly displaced worldwide, Euromonitor considers supporting refugees as one of the key cornerstones of its CSR spending and volunteering.

Over the last two years, Euromonitor has donated over £330,000 to support 18 different refugee organisations around the world, and the staff has spent over 250 hours volunteering with these organisations. Our support goes to small operations such as the Asylum Seekers Centre in Sydney, providing welcome and hospitality; the Bike Project in London, providing bikes for refugees; Missao Paz in Sao Paulo, offering a home to110 migrants; Upwardly Global in Chicago helping refugees find work.

Through our headline partners we support much more significant projects: Medecins Sans Frontieres/ Doctors Without Borders works notably with the 1 million displaced Rohingya in Bangladesh, but also in many areas of refugees in crisis; Karam supports Syrian refugees in Turkey; and Walkabout Foundation provides wheelchairs to South Sudanese refugees in Uganda, amongst others.

We salute these organisations and the others working on the ground to alleviate the conditions for this growing number of displaced people worldwide.
