Traditionally, the habit of using dishwashers is not common among Brazilians. However, this scenario is slowly changing, with the product gradually gaining penetration in mid- and high-income households.
In Brazil, instalment payments play a significant role in consumer spending, including in pharmacies, supermarkets, hypermarkets, home products specialists, and appliances and electronics specialists. Within consumer appliances, big-ticket items such as dishwashers, fridge freezers and cookers can have prohibitive prices for consumers, who then turn to payment by instalment to support their purchases.
Over the forecast period, demand for dishwashers is predicted to dramatically improve, with the category recording 6% CAGRs in both retail volume and value terms (at constant 2023 prices) as the low penetration rates of this appliance offer strong room for expansion. In Brazil, consumers rarely consider dishwashers an essential appliance in the kitchen, and specifically those in low-income households may find the prices prohibitive.

Dishwashers
A dishwasher is a device for cleaning crockery and cutlery. Freestanding models are commonly available in full-size, slimline and compact variants. Built-in machines can be fully integrated (completely hidden by a door front and have their controls at the top of the dishwasher door on the inside), semi-integrated which are covered by a matching kitchen door up to the height drawer, which are usually built in at chest height to make loading easier.
