Reduced sugar carbonates are expected to experience the strongest growth in the forecast period, driven by their low maturity and strong consumer demand. Major players like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are committed to increasing the share of reduced sugar products in their portfolios, further expanding the availability of these healthier options.
With an anticipated improvement in economic conditions, premium carbonates are expected to regain their importance in the forecast period. Consumers will place a greater emphasis on products with sustainable production and packaging, as well as those containing organic or premium ingredients.
Price stabilisation is anticipated in the forecast period, leading to a rebound in carbonate consumption. However, the transition to a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) system in 2024/2025 could present a challenge for Hungarian soft drinks, particularly carbonates.
