Fragrance innovation continues to push boundaries as expectations rise around sustainability and functionality. In particular, there is likely to be a fresh focus on mood-boosting products, as manufacturers look to combine consumers’ desire for indulgence with increasingly sophisticated expectations around the range of potential functionality.
Fragrances have proven to be somewhat resilient in the face of an uncertain economy. While inflationary pressure is expected to ease from 2024 onwards, the economic forecast remains somewhat bleak.
The Czech e-commerce channel saw an upturn in the growth of fragrances sales in 2023, after a much more sluggish performance in the previous year due to stabilisation after the abrupt growth of the COVID-19 crisis. Nonetheless, its performance remained positive throughout the post-pandemic period, as consumers had become accustomed to the convenience and competitive pricing of the channel during the pandemic, while manufacturers had significantly improved their online operations and the range of the offer.

Fragrances
This is the aggregation of men's, women's and unisex mass and premium fragrances as well as fragrances sets/kits. The distinction between mass market and premium is normally price and label/positioning (mass fragrances rarely carry a designer label) and distribution. Also includes hair fragrances with a primary function of making hair smell good and not to be confused with hair oil and other styling/conditioning products with hair fragrances, whose primary function is to either condition or style over fragrance.
